11:11 A New Musical
(Formerly Relativity)
Music and Lyrics by Rob Rokicki
Book and Lyrics by Michael Ruby

Cast: 1F, 1M

Runtime: approx. 90 Minutes

Synopsis:

11:00 is an exciting, funny and poignant new pop/rock musical about siblings and perspective. Jumping back and forth in time over three decades, the musical concerns fraternal twins, Derek and Reagan. From the high school football field, to the battlefield in Afghanistan, to personal battles for equality and sexual identity, they discover that there are two things no one can ever escape:  time and family.

The show is constructed out of sequence, with the twins starting as adults, then jumping back to them as teenagers, where there is a rift in their relationship that we must puzzle together to see if it can be mended.  Sibling relationships are complicated and rarely explored onstage. The piece has an exciting pop/rock score and an intriguing non-linear story structure similar to a Quentin Tarantino movie where Time itself becomes a character

Development History:
11:11 (originally titled “Relativity”) was selected for development at the University of Southern California School of Dramatic Arts as part of LiveRead@SDA 2018 at the state of the art Cammilleri Hall. It was selected to workshop at ‘The Pitch’ at the Finger Lakes Musical Theatre Festival (Merry-Go-Round Playhouse) in 2014. A reading was presented at Theatre Row in NYC directed by John Simpkins, and a well-received concert version was presented at 54 Below staring F. Michael Haynie (Wicked, and Sarah Beth Pfeifer (The Lightning Thief).
